Tips for Making Carpet Soft and Fluffy again

Tips for Making Carpet Soft and Fluffy again

Out of all the decor items that your home could have, one of the most comforting and warming necessities is a fluffy and soft carpet. However, it is very common for carpets to lose this nature, but not all is lost. You can remedy it by reading this quick blog.

Let’s start!

Ways to Get Your Carpet Soft & Fluffy Again!

1. Prep

For starters, you need to get rid of anything on your carpet that needs to be cleaned and repaired. One method that works best is to go to one room at a time. This is because it becomes easier to remove furniture and other objects.

2. Inspection

After you have finished prepping your carpet, you need to thoroughly inspect it. To do this, get on your hands and knees and don’t forget to have a pair of scissors. Look at your carpet closely, do you uneven threads coming out of your carpet? It’s time to snip them off for a fluffy carpet.
Important note: Don’t forget to keep your scissors perpendicular to the fluffy carpet’s line when cutting pieces that can be seen extending beyond.

3. Spot clean

Use a solution of white vinegar and hot water on your carpet. This will ensure that you don’t end up damaging it. If not, you can also use carpet cleaning products. But be careful, if you use these incorrectly you can leave your carpet dirtier and more damaged than you started!

4. The Trick of the Ice Cube

Want to get a bouncy, soft and fluffy carpet? A trick is to press down an ice cube on areas that have been pressed by furniture. Do this, by placing an ice cube on the area and wait until it melts completely. Then, gently blot with a clean towel or paper towel until all the liquid / water has been absorbed. Make sure you do not push the towel into the carpet as this can cause a dent. Finally, run a spoon against the carpet in the right direction to make that carpet into a fluffy, soft haven!

5. Efficient vacuuming

Vacuuming is one of the major steps in getting a soft and fluffy carpet. Thoroughly vacuum by going over each space as much as seven to eight times. Make sure you also use vacuum extender brushes so you even do it in hard-to-reach areas.

6. Steam cleaning

One of the best ways to ensure that your carpet stays fluffy and soft is to steam clean it properly such that it’s as dry as possible. Don’t forget to follow your manufacturers advice if any. To thoroughly dry you can even open many different doors and windows in your home on a nice warm and sunny day or set up and turn on fans.

7. Eliminate Odors

To eliminate odors, you can sprinkle small amounts of baking soda over the dry carpet overnight. Then the next day, make sure you vacuum up all this baking soda. This method is great because baking soda acts to absorb all the bacteria that are responsible for the odors.
